Mismatched cousins reunite for a trip across Poland to honor their beloved grandmother, but their old tensions resurface in the context of their family history. When Benjy and David visit their grandmother’s home in Poland, it’s where Jesse Eisenberg’s 39 real-life ancestors settled in the diaspora. Benji Kaplan: We keep moving, we stay light, we stay nimble. Benji Kaplan: The conductor will come by to get the tickets, we tell him we’re going to the bathroom. David Kaplan: Bathroom. Benji Kaplan: He gets in the back of the train and starts driving.

I saw it at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival
25, No. 3 in F Major Written by Frédéric Chopin Performed by Tzvi Erez. Jesse Eisenberg previously made When You’re Done Saving the World; which was interesting, but unfortunately a bit boring. Here, Eisenberg’s direction and writing for this film shows that he has improved greatly, with many interesting and engaging characters, good dialogue and great performances, especially from Kieran Culkin, who steals the show throughout the film. The narrative explores the history of family and complex bonds as each theme and the exploration of themes were well handled and fun, emotional and engaging to watch. Featuring beautiful camerawork, a great soundtrack, and conversations that felt real, genuine, and engaging to watch.
There were a few soundtrack choices that felt a little out of place
Eisenberg’s approach to chemistry, structure, and pacing was great, as he created a very good, compelling, and personal story about family history and the true meanings of bonds and relationships. But overall, Eisenberg has improved, and I’m looking forward to seeing what else he has in store today. From Alien: Romulus to Road House, check out some of our favorite 2024 posters.
